What is design if not a chance to play?

Behind each brand is a story that could be told a million different ways. I look for the most authentic one—aka the fun one. Because good storytelling is good fun.

As a multidisciplinary designer, this fun is sometimes sparked by packaging, sometimes by concert merch and motion graphics. I love forming new brand identities and find equal amounts of joy in both print and social projects. It’s all a chance to let curiosity shine.

When I’m not playing in the Adobe suite, I’m knitting a new wardrobe, clearing the shelves of Hennepin County library, or recharging outside, snow or shine.

paw patrol live!

video editing, motion, social media

Nickelodeon's hit TV show is hitting the stage with live tours. Traveling across the country and worldwide requires mountains of graphics and campaigns to keep the show moving. My team and I created a thoughtful and fun media presence using brand assets and strict guidelines. Utilizing motion, video, and bright colors calls to parents and kids alike.

An established brand for children provided new obstacles for my design process. Layouts explode in your face, and colors pop. Everything seems silly (in a good way). Paw Patrol brings back the play that was missing in my design process. The graphics spark one's imagination while raising excitement for the show. It's a great reminder not to take things too seriously.

The most considerable workload that I took on for this ongoing campaign is what we call the Matrix. There may be multiple shows on any given weekend, each in a different city and venue. Over 300 graphics need to be changed to advertise the correct information properly. This process could take someone days, but I utilized Aftereffect expressions to create graphics on demand. This massive time saver was my pet project to improve and expand as our needs see fit.
